As a campus representative, Boren relies on you to publicize the scholarship opportunity on your campus to students, administrators, and faculty, particularly those in fields of study preferred by Boren.
There are many ways to publicize the Boren Scholarships. To maximize your efforts, take a moment to think about what might be the best techniques to publicize on your campus. Here are a few suggestions:
Utilize www.borenawards.org Website
- Post your on-campus deadline to the website
- Advertise on-campus information sessions for Boren
- Provide a link to www.borenawards.org from your website
- Download handouts and other resources from the Campus Representative Resources
Collaborate with Other Departments on Your Campus
- Send information to administrators, professors, and department heads in Boren-preferred fields of study
- Inform the heads of the honors, financial aid, study abroad, and fellowship programs
- Present information about Boren at faculty meetings
- Post Boren program announcements on departmental bulletin boards and listservs
Recruit Students
- Advertise Boren webinars, arrange to view them together, or conduct your own information sessions
- Post announcements/articles on appropriate websites, Facebook, and Twitter
- Conduct student information sessions to announce the program
- Distribute public service announcements to campus radio stations
- Display program posters where interested students will see them, including study abroad and fellowship offices
- Notify student government, honor societies, clubs, cultural associations, and other interested groups
