David L. Boren Awards for International Study

The Boren Fellowship deadline is now two weeks away – January 29, 2009. Please see the completed application checklist at http://www.borenawards.org/boren_fellowship/how_apply.html to ensure that all required elements of the application are submitted by the deadline.

 

The online application includes three letters of reference and an optional language proficiency form. At any time, you can login to the application and see what the status of each letter of reference and language proficiency form is. It is your responsibility to ensure that all references are submitted.  

Many applicants have not started the online reference portion of the application. If you plan to complete an application, you should start work on this portion now.

Saved – You have entered biographical information about your referee. Your referee is not yet able to login to the system.

Emailed – You have sent your referee an auto-generated email. Your referee can now login to the system. You should contact your referee directly to ask if he or she has received the email. If he or she has not, please ask them to check their junk folder, and double-check that you entered their email address correctly.

In Progress – Your referee has viewed and saved a letter of reference, but has not submitted it. If this is still the case as the application deadline approaches, you should contact your

Submitted – Your referee has submitted the letter of reference.
